Fast Food Project

Introduction - Which car brand should Taco Bell advertise for?

Problem: I am the fast food company Taco Bell and I want car companies to pay me to place advertisements on my drive-thru food wrappers in Middletown. I want to show Honda that they can get the most return for their money. Your team has been hired to determine which car company to make the "pitch" to with your research.
Hypothesis: More cars branded by Honda will go through Taco Bell's drive-thru than any other car brand company.
Prediction: If more Hondas go through Taco Bell than other companies', Taco Bell should advertise Honda maintenance.

Materials and Methods -

Materials: Pencil and Paper
Methods:

  1. Go to Taco Bell sometime in the afternoon. Preferably between 11-4 P.M.
  2. Record the company name of all of the vehicles you observe that pass through Taco Bell's drive-thru.
  3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 until you have recorded 150 vehicles between your partner(s) and yourself.
Results - Hypothesis not supported.

After we concluded the experiment and we have collected all of our data, more Hondas did not go through than other car brand vehicles.

Discussion

We concluded that Hondas did not drive through Taco Bell the most out of all of the car brands. We suggest that Taco Bell should sell their advertisements to Chevy or Ford since the results state that 32 Chevy and 27 Ford branded cars drove through Taco Bell's drive-thru the most. Our data might be off if they tried this again because we performed the experiment at a certain time, on certain days, and if you tried to replicate the results you would get a different outcome because of the amount of cars you see. Other variables that might change the outcome if people do the same or similar trials are the time of day, location, day of the week, and what time of the year that you perform this experiment.
